Dr. Owen joined New Century College as an Assistant Professor of Leadership & Integrative Studies in 2008. She has 15 years of professional experience in the field of leadership development, service–learning, civic engagement, and assessment. Owen is the author of two monographs for the National Clearinghouse for Leadership Programs, is co–editor of the Handbook for Student Leadership Programs, and is the co–author of the instructor’s manual for the book Exploring Leadership: For College Students Who Want to Make a Difference.
Owen is an eight-time associate with the National Leadership Symposium and is the 2005 recipient of the K. Patricia Cross Future Leaders Award. She is a frequent presenter, consultant, and keynote speaker on topics related to leadership, social change, and organizational development.
