Tomorrow – Wed. 3/23/2011

George Mason University Board of Visitors meets all day in Mason Hall – first meetings begin at 9:30 am. Meetings go until noon with an hour lunch break, then reconvene in the Meese Boardroom (Mason Hall) at 1:00.  Find out more about how decisions are made at GMU.

Faculty Senate special meeting on the Faculty Handbook – 3:00-4:15 in Robinson B113. Not the most exciting topic area, but an interesting way to observe faculty governance.

Centreville Immigration Forum public meeting, 7:30 pm at the Centreville Public Library.

  • VRE Public Hearing: February 23, 7:00 p.m at the Burke Centre Conservancy. The hearing is to solicit comment related to several proposed changes.
  • University Mall Information Meeting: February 23, 7:30 p.m. at the Oak View Elementary School
  • Budget Town Hall: March 14, Robinson SS Recital Hall, 7:30 p.m.
  • Joint Budget Town Hall with Springfield Supervisor’s Office: West Springfield HS Cafeteria, March 23, 7:30 p.m.
  • Community Environmental Leadership Institute, May 7, time and location to be determined (details in next month’s Beacon)

Fairfax County Public Library Board of Trustees
Meeting: February 9, 2011, 7 p.m.

The Library Board of Trustees meets on the second Wednesday of each month except August. The meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. at George Mason Regional Library. The public and press are invited to attend. A maximum of five people may register to speak on library concerns during the Public Comment period at each monthly meeting.
